Research has found out that since animals like cats sometimes during their feeding session ends up ingesting fur, it is not good for their system. Cats are not able to digest fur and make them quite uncomfortable.

Cats that are domesticated and are not allowed to get outside will in most cases end up chewing plants or anything around the house that will be closer to what they are missing. Eating grass is not bad for cats and they should be allowed to eat grass for whatever reason. This is why a lot of animal food companies now include grass in the animal food for fibre purposes and for other reasons. It is something cats can't do without; it makes part of their diet from time to time.
